Revised In-Hospital Clinical Assessment (IHCA) for COGU Trainees

Written Examination
A written examination is part of the assessment for each Subspecialty qualification.
Subspecialty written examinations are held in August. The 3-hour examination comprises 12 short answer questions (SAQs), or a mixture of SAQs and short essay-type questions. All questions are of equal value and are expected to be answered in approximately fifteen minutes each.
Candidates presenting for RANZCOG written examinations are reminded of changes to the format of SAQ papers that came into effect for all examinations from August 2005. More ( 90KB)

Oral Examination
An oral examination is part of the assessment for each Subspecialty qualification.
Subspecialty oral examinations take approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes. Candidates rotate through 9 separate encounters each of 15 minutes' duration. The dates of oral examinations are set by the Subspecialty Board of Examiners.
