About the Fellowship
The Fotheringham Research Fellowship is funded by the Fotheringham Trust, founded in 1957 by generous gifts from the late Mrs May H Fotheringham of South Australia.
Conditions of Award
The purpose of the Fellowship is for research in all aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology and related disciplines. The Fellowship may be held outside Australia or New Zealand provided the holder intends to return to Australia or New Zealand.
Eligibility
The Fellowship is open to Fellows of the College of less than five years standing or Members of the College seeking to qualify for Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists who are normally resident in Australia or New Zealand.
The Scholarship Selection Committee and the Board of Directors of the RANZCOG Research Foundation recognise that at the time of application, some candidates may not have attained their Membership of the RANZCOG, but can reasonably be expected to do so prior to the commencement of their planned research. The Board has therefore approved two situations in which an applicant may be awarded the Fotheringham Research Fellowship conditional upon the candidate attaining their Membership prior to commencing their research.
