'The Colposcopic examination is the corner-stone of the assessment
of the woman with an abnormal cervical smear'
The Colposcopic Audit Project has been funded in round seven of
the Support Scheme for Rural Specialists (SSRS).
The objective of this audit is to provide specialists with a view
to better identify and accurately manage risks relating to Colposcopic
assessment.
The Colposcopy Audit Project will provide specialists with opportunities
and resources to undertake a multidisciplinary clinical Audit and
peer review in relation to Colposcopy and cervical abnormalities.
This project is being led by the RANZCOG Provincial Fellows Committee.
The Provincial Fellows Committee, has vast experience working with
fellows in rural practice, where many fellows encounter challenges
in completing audit and due to their proximity to other fellows,
may have difficulties discussing outcomes in a supportive environment.
The project team aims to involve approximately 50 individual fellows
who perform Colposcopy in either a public or private rural setting.
We also would benefit from seeking assistance from pathologists
servicing rural colposcopists.
