The Luke Proposch Perinatal Research Scholarship
About the Fellowship
The Luke Proposch Perinatal Research Scholarship has been established
in memory of the late Luke Proposch. The scholarship is funded from
donations to the Foundation given for the purpose of perinatal research.
Conditions of Award
The purpose of the Luke Proposch Perinatal Research Scholarship
is to promote research in perinatal medicine. The research is to be undertaken in Australia or New Zealand.
Eligibility
The Fellowship will be open to graduates in medicine or science,
who preferably have had some involvement in medical research in
Australia and/or overseas.
Tenure
The Fellowship is for a period of one year during 2007.
Application
Applications are to be submitted using the RANZCOG Research Foundation Application Form. In years
where a Scholarship is advertised, the date for receipt of applications
is 30 June.
Applications are assessed by the Scholarship Selection Committee of the RANZCOG Research Foundation.
Administration of the Scholarship
The Scholarship is to be undertaken in a hospital, university
department or research institute. Time spent undertaking the Research
Fellowship may be recognised for part of the pre-Fellowship training
for the FRANZCOG, or towards the Continuing Professional Development
(CPD) program requirements of the College for Fellows.
Stipend and Allowances
The annual stipend is $20,000.
Report on the Scholarship
Following completion of the project, a full report is to be submitted
to the Research Foundation by 31 January. This report will be reviewed
by the Board of Directors and the Scholarship Selection Committee.
The RANZCOG Research Foundation is to be acknowledged in any publication
or thesis resulting from work undertaken during the tenure of the
Scholarship by stating that the author was the recipient of the
Perinatal Research Scholarship. A copy of any published article
arising from research carried out under the scholarship is to be
submitted to the RANZCOG Research Foundation when available.
Article for RANZCOG's O&G Magazine
This should be a lay overview of the project (200 words) stating why the project is an important area for study, what the project set out to achieve etc. It will be due 31st January in the year following completion of the project. The article will be published in the RANZCOG O&G Magazine and may be used for other promotional uses by the Foundation.
