About the Scholarship

In 2008 the RANZCOG Research Foundation offered its first Collaborative Bachelor of Medical Science Scholarship. Under this scholarship scheme, the RANZCOG Research Foundation provides funds, matched by a University Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, to assist an undergraduate student with their Bachelor of Medical Science research year. 

This scholarship opportuniy is available to the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the universities of Australia and New Zealand with potentially one student from each university able to receive the scholarship. Recipients are selected by their department and put forward to the Foundation for endorsement.

Report on the Scholarship

Following completion of the project, scholarship recipients are to submit a full report to the Research Foundation by 31 January in the year following completion of the research. This report will be reviewed by the Board of Directors.

Article for O&G Magazine

Upon completion of their research, students are required to submit a summary report (200 words) suitable for publication in the RANZCOG O&G Magazine.

Application

Once a student has been selected, a nomination form is completed by the student's research supervisor or other suitable member of the department and submitted to the Research Foundation for consideration and endorsement by the Board of Directors.

The deadline for receipt of nominations is 31March 2010.
