About the RANZCOG Research Foundation

Objectives

The RANZCOG Research Foundation supports scientific and clinical research in women's health through research fellowships, scholarships and travel grants.

The objectives of the RANZCOG Research Foundation include:

To act as trustees of trust funds contributed for the purposes of offering a program of
- fellowships and scholarships for obstetrical and/or gynaecological research projects
- overseas travel grants to support obstetrics and/or gynaecology study visits
To administer these trust funds to provide the RANZCOG Research Foundation scholarship / fellowship program
To encourage the study and advancement of the science and practice of research in medicine and surgery, particularly in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.

History

The RANZCOG Research Foundation, formerly the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Research Foundation, was established in 1989, following a change of name from the Arthur Wilson Memorial Foundation.

The Board of Directors of the RANZCOG Research Foundation, as elected by the membership of the RANZCOG Research Foundation, is the body that enacts the objectives of the RANZCOG Research Foundation.

RANZCOG Research Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee

Scholarship Selection Committee 2010

The Research Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee reviews and assesses scholarship and grant applications and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the award of these scholarships and grants.

The Chairman is appointed by the Chair of the Board of Directors.

Finance Committee 2010

The primary roles of the Finance Committee are the consideration of recommendations from the RANZCOG Finance Advisory Committee to Executive (FACE) and investment advisors involved with Funds of the Foundation under management, and the provision of information and advice to the Board of Directors regarding the financial position and performance of the Foundation.
