Trainees assessed into the ‘partially comparable' category must complete three-monthly formative assessments and six-monthly summative assessments. They must also complete two In-hospital Clinical Assessments (IHCAs), the MRANZCOG Written and Oral Examinations and either the Communication Skills Workshop or the Consultation Skills IHCA.

Training & Assessment Information
The RANZCOG Curriculum Document underpins all training conducted by the college, including the OTS Training Program.
The Training Program Handbook is purpose designed for new trainees entering the Integrated Training Program at Year 1. It does however provide key dates and information relating to exams and IHCAs that are relevant to OTS trainees and a copy of the RANZCOG Regulations pertaining to OTS study.
The OTS Training Portfolio is currently being developed and will provide a comprehensive overview and record of your training.
Training Documentation
In order to commence your accredited OTS Training, you must identify a Fellow of the College who is prepared to act as your Training Supervisor and complete the Application Form for OTS Prospectively Approved Training and return it to the college.
It is essential that you make regular contact with your Training Supervisor and ensure that the relevant Formative and Summative Assessments and Clinical Training Summaries are completed on time. Your Training Supervisor will have access to these documents.
In-Hospital Clinical Assessments (IHCAs)
You must complete the Diagnostic Ultrasound and Colposcopy IHCAs listed below. You must also complete either the Consultation Skills IHCA or the Communication Skills Workshop.
Dates for your In-hospital Clinical Assessments will be determined by the hospital in consultation with your Training Supervisor. The application form must be sent to College House at least one month prior to the planned date of assessment.

Examinations
MRANZCOG Written and Oral Exams are conducted twice a year. Dates, venues and fees are listed on the application forms. Please note the closing dates for 2008 applications are 30 October 2007 and 30 April 2008.
Details of examination formats, sample exam questions and feedback from examiners can be downloaded below. A copy of the MRANZCOG Oral Examination DVD containing sample candidate performances can be purchased using the information and application form.
Funded Training Opportunities
Commonwealth Government funding is available for targeted training of OTSs currently working towards Fellowship. Training needs should be identified through consultation between trainees and their training supervisors and recommendations for funding should be forwarded to the College using the OTS Funded Training Recommendation form.

The College's monthly Training & Assessment Bulletin keeps you up to date with essential information including reminders of workshop and examination dates, changes to regulations affecting your training, submission deadlines and fees. It is strongly recommended that you access the Bulletin regularly.
