Intrapartum Fetal Surveillance- Clinical Guidelines

 The third edition of the Intrapartum Fetal Surveillance (IFS) Clinical Guideline to be published by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG

The Guideline was reviewed during 2012 by an expert multidisciplinary working party at the request of the RANZCOG Council. The review was undertaken to ensure the Guideline’s currency and continued utility in the field of intrapartum fetal surveillance, a critical aspect of maternity care.

Mercia Barnes Trust research applicant recipients.

The Mercia Barnes Trust recently met and granted funding to three applications for research fellowships in the area of women's and reproductive health.

We had a high calibre of applications and were able to award funding to three out of the six applicants, Congratulations to Dr Sarah Armstrong, Dr Charlotte Oyston and Dr Kati Taghavi.

More work needed to reduce perinatal and maternal mortality in New Zealand

Wednesday 18  June, 2014 – Wellington: A review of perinatal and maternal mortality in Wellington recently showed that whilst there was a reduction in stillbirths in New Zealand between 2007 and 2012,  more can be done to further reduce mortality during and after pregnancy in New Zealand.
