What is the Cochrane Library?
The Cochrane Library is a database of research on the effectiveness of different health care treatments and interventions. It is widely recognised as an excellent source of health care information for consumers and health professionals alike.
The Cochrane Library comprises a collection of seven internet databases of health information, updated quarterly, designed to help healthcare professionals make treatment decisions and inform patients about the care they receive.
Access
FREE for all Australians
National access to the Cochrane Library is funded by the Commonwealth Government of Australia.
FREE for all New Zealanders
On 4 November 2005 access to the Cochrane Library was made free for all New Zealanders by the Ministry of Health and DHBNZ.
Access is via the Ministry of Health's website or via the New Zealand Guidelines Group website
