Collaborative Maternity Care Agreement
Collaborative Maternity Care Agreement between Eligible Midwife and Specialist Obstetrician or General Practice Obstetrician
In August 2011 the RANZCOG Board approved a template Collaborative Maternity Care Agreement intended for use by Specialist Obstetricians or GP Obstetricians and Eligible Midwives. This agreement is being considered by the Board of the Australian College of Midwives with the view to it being co-badged by the two Colleges.
The Board acknowledges that the template agreement will not be suitable for all settings and that not all Obstetricians will wish to enter into a collaborative arrangement.
Doctors' Health Advisory Services
The College is concerned that Fellows in crisis are unable to access the kind of support that they need when they need it. This support may be obtained from a range of sources:
- Collegiate support from colleagues, Councilors and Regional committee members
- Medical support - general practitioners and Fellows should not dismiss their own symptoms and should consult a doctor if they are unwell
- Doctors advisory phone lines, some of which operate 24 hours per day and are strictly confidential.
