Provincial Fellows' Clinical Teleconference SeriesClinical Teleconference Series
The Provincial Fellows Teleconference Series usually start in late May each year and runs once a month for six months. The program director is Professor Ian Pettigrew. The Teleconference program is offered primarily to Fellows practising in isolated circumstances, however other Fellows wishing to participate can be included. By taking part in the six teleconferences, participants should improve their knowledge of recent developments in obstetrics and gynaecology. Format The 2006 Series consists of six 45 minute teleconferences held from June to November on recent developments in obstetrics and gynaecology. Participants are contacted by an operator and connected to each teleconference. Following a roll call the Chairman introduces the Keynote speaker, who will make a brief presentation (5-15 minutes). The remainder of the teleconference consists of discussion and questions for the Keynote speaker on the topic presented. Keynote speakers may provide pre-conference reading papers which are distributed prior to each teleconference. CPD points CPD points will be allocated on the basis of one point for the teleconference itself and one point for reading the references beforehand (i.e. two points per teleconference) amounting to 12 RANZCOG approved meeting points for participation in all six. Points will be credited automatically at the conclusion of the series. PR&CRM points Participants may complete a Practice Review & Clinical Risk Management Worksheet for any of the Clinical Teleconference sessions you participate in. Each worksheet accrues 5 PR&CRM points in the RANZCOG CPD Program. Worksheets should be retained as verification of the activity. Please also note that the PR&CRM points from completing these worksheets are not automatically credited but must be written on the next Annual Points Claim form. Meeting points for attendance at the teleconferences will, however, be automatically credited.
