Why has the College introduced a practice profile?

Until fairly recently, almost without exception, RANZCOG Fellows practiced in both obstetrics and gynaecology and the College could confidently use the number of actively practising Fellows as a reasonable approximation of the obstetric workforce. This is no longer the case.

Workforce issues are of great concern to the College, but the College hold limited demographic information on the fellowship, this has been complemented every three years by data obtained in the workforce survey.

In planning the O&G workforce for the future, it is vital for the College to have current workforce information. Consequently Council approved the development of an online practice profile. Each year the results of the profile will be reviewed by Executive and Council and from time to time further questions will be added to the profile.

Results of the 2009 Fellows Practice Profile

A summary of the results of the first RANZCOG online Fellows practice profile is available by logging into the Practice Profile. While you are there please take the opportunity to update your profile for 2010 and answer several additional questions.

To complete the profile you will need:

• Username: this is the Fellowship ID number that appears on your annual points claim form.
• Password:  this is the password that you use to access the locked section of the College website.
