Journal Article Summary Service
Keeping up with the journals
The Journal Article Summary Service (JASS) summarises relevant
articles in journals like the BMJ, Lancet, New
England Journal of Medicine and JAMA and specialist
publications.
JASS has been commercially available since 1997 and is subscribed
to in 44 different countries, including Australia and New Zealand,
by academic units and individuals.
Fellows and members are invited to send JASS an email saying “Interested
in subscribing” and be sent a free issue and an order form.
A reduction of $A10 will apply to the 12 month subscription of $A120
to those joining in this way.
JASS carries a questionnaire with each issue that is accredited
by RANZCOG for 1 CPD point per bulletin.

Medical Specialist Outreach Assistance Program (MSOAP)
NSW Rural Doctors Network offers MSOAP funding to
rural specialists
The Medical Specialist Outreach Assistance Program (MSOAP) is a
national program funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health
and Ageing under the Rural Health Strategy. The private sector component
of MSOAP in New South Wales is administered by the NSW Rural Doctors
Network.
Funding may be available to assist private medical specialists
who are already providing services to remote locations in NSW. For
more details and an application form, please consult the NSW
Rural Doctors Network website or contact:

The 36th International Continence Society Annual Scientific Meeting—ICS
2006—is a conjoint meeting of the International Continence
Society with colleagues from the Continence Foundation of Australia
and the New Zealand Continence Association.
The Convenor is Dr Ted Arnold and Scientific Chairman is Professor
Don Wilson.
Abstracts in electronic form are being called for with a closing
date of 1 April 2006 in a format explained on the icsoffice website.

The International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics
(FIGO) will host its 18th World Congress of Gynaecology and Obstetrics
at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in October 2006.
The meeting will bring together obstetricians and
gynaecologists from around the world to discuss all facets of the
specialty, including women's health issues, general gynaecology,
reproductive medicine, gynaecological oncology and maternal medicine.
