Asia Pacific Women's Health Fund (APWHF)

Aim of the APWHF

The aim of the RANZCOG Asia Pacific Women's Health Fund (APWHF) is to provide a RANZCOG-based fund to which interested persons can donate funds to:

• support College initiatives in Asia and the Pacific aimed at long-term improvements in women's health;
• foster and encourage support links between reproductive health care workers in Asia, the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand; and
• facilitate skill sharing and collaboration on areas of need in the region.

Who can apply to the APWHF?

Applications for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities and Practical Assistance activities are welcome from O&G specialists in Asia, the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand.

How do I apply?

Applications for CPD activities can be completed on-line using the Application for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Activity form. Examples of CPD activities that may attract funding from the APWHF are:

• travel scholarships to provide for training placements, teaching opportunities and networking for reproductive health care workers in Asia, the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand; or
• support for O&G specialists in the region to attend international meetings to keep up their professional development and network with colleagues.

Applications for Practical Assistance activities can be completed on-line using the Application for Practical Assistance Activity form. Examples of activities that may attract funding from the RANZCOG APWHF are:

• women's and children's health projects developed between colleagues and in the region and RANZCOG members; or
• requests for items of medical equipment or urgent supplies, or assistance with transportation of goods and/or equipment.

Supporting the APWHF

Donations

Donations to the RANZCOG Asia Pacific Women's Health Fund are tax deductible. You can indicate where you would like your donation directed:

• To support Urogynaecology and fistula treatment and management programs in Asia and the Pacific

• To support O&G indicatives undertaken by the Highland Foundation in the highlands of PNG

• Training of obstetricians and gynaecologists from developing countries in Australia / New Zealand
• Supply of equipment / resources to hospitals in Asia / the Pacific / Papua New Guinea
• Travel scholarships to build support networks between Asia, the Pacific, Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand
• Any area of urgent need identified by the APWHF

Management of the APWHF

APWHF Advisory Group

The RANZCOG APWHF is managed by the APWHF Advisory Group which comprises:

• Chair, RANZCOG Asia Pacific Committee (APC)
• Up to three additional invitees with previous experience and knowledge of Asia and the Pacific (nominated by members of the Asia Pacific Committee (APC), the President, RANZCOG, or the CEO, RANZCOG
• A representative from the RANZCOG Executive Committee (nominated by the President, RANZCOG)
• CEO, RANZCOG
• President, PSRH
• Coordinator, APC RANZCOG
