This document is the policy and guidelines for the RANCOG Appeals Committee (a Standing Committee of Council), which hears appeals in relation to decisions made by or on behalf of the RANZCOG. It took effect on 27 March 2004, when it was approved by the RANZCOG Council, and includes subsequent amendments.

Provincial Fellows Annual Meeting

Guidelines for organising and co-ordinating

To maintain consistency, the College requires each Provincial Fellows Annual Meeting to comply with predefined standards relating to all processes and procedures. The planning and organisation of the Provincial Fellows Annual Meeting is managed by the Provincial Fellows Committee Co-ordinator in conjunction with the Convenor. The ASM Secretariat at College House also assumes a supporting role and will provide assistance with the design and production of promotional material and the development of a sponsorship strategy.

Code of Ethical Practice

The RANZCOG Code of Ethical Practice

The Code of Ethics was developed by the RANZCOG Bioethics Working Group, chaired by Dr John Palmer, in late 2001. It was extensively revised in early 2006 and renamed the RANZCOG Code of Ethical Practice.

The principles set out in this document are intended to aid Fellows, Members, Trainees and Diplomates in maintaining a high level of ethical Practice. They are standards by which a member may guage the appropriateness of his/her Practice in relationships with patients, colleagues, other professionals and members of the public.

Australian Medical Council Report

AMC Report on the RANZCOG's training programs

In November 2001 the Australian Medical Council (AMC) implemented a new national process for the review and accreditation of specialist medical education and training programs. The review of the RANZCOG's programs took place over 2003 and this report was delivered in December 2003. The College's training and continuing professional development programs are accredited by the AMC for six years subject to satisfactory annual reports and a comprehensive report to the Specialist Education Accreditation Committee of the AMC in December 2006.
